Prayer isn’t always pretty.

Friend, may idea ka ba kung gaano kabigat ang mental or emotional struggles? Like, ‘di ka na makakain, 'di makatulog ng maayos, tapos wala ka ng ganang gawin ang kahit ano kasi sobrang consumed ka na ng emotions mo — galit, lungkot, anxiety, lahat na. But hey, it’s OK! Hindi mo ‘yan kasalanan. You’re just human, and it’s okay not to be okay sometimes.
That’s why we believe our series this week, “It’s OK Not to Be OK,” really matters. Naniniwala kami na it’s important to acknowledge that mental health issues are real, while also finding ways to manage or deal with those struggles.
Let’s look at the story of Hannah — isa sa mga asawa ni Elcana na hindi mabuntis, habang ang isa pa ay marami nang anak. Iniinis at hinihiya siya ng karibal niya, “hanggang sa umiyak na lang siya at hindi na kumain. (1 Samuel 1:7 ASD)”
Maling isipin na small thing lang ang mang-hiya at mang-inis ng ibang tao. But if you’re the target of bullying, you’ll know how hurtful this can be. This is exactly what happened to Hannah — hindi na siya makakain sa sobrang sakit ng kanyang nararamdaman. And it's a common effect of anxiety and depression.
Friend, may mga bagay bang nagpapasakit sa puso mo ngayon? Dalhin mo ‘yan kay Lord—kausapin mo Siya, umiyak ka kung gusto mo, at sabihin mo lahat ng dinadala mo. Promise, yayakapin ka Niya.
Let’s do this today, Friend. Hanap ka ng isang tahimik na spot, doon pwede mong isigaw ang nararamdaman mo. Or kung mas okay sayo na isulat ito, you can pray while journaling — isipin mo si Jesus ang kausap mo. Remember, when you name your pain, it doesn’t mean you lack faith; instead, it’s part of the path to healing and wholeness.
