Do you sometimes feel stuck in a negative feeling that seems like it has no end? Some of us find it easy to recover from negative emotions, while others feel like this will last forever. Walang tama o mali dito; iba-iba lang talaga ang paraan natin sa pag-process ng emotions.

I think I fall in the second camp. Kapag may masamang nangyari, natatagalan akong makabalik sa pagiging OK. Affected ang lahat ng ginagawa ko, pati ang pakikisama ko sa ibang tao, like sa family and friends ko. These past years, natutunan ko ang emotional regulation, which means being able to manage emotions in a healthy way. Kaya mas nakakaya ko na ito ngayon compared to years before.

The good news is, si Lord mismo, gustong-gusto tayong tulungan sa mga mahihirap na emosyon. Let’s read this passage from the Bible:

Huwag kayong mabagabag, at huwag kayong matakot, dahil iniiwan ko sa inyo ang kapayapaan. Ang aking kapayapaan ang ibinibigay ko sa inyo. Hindi ito katulad ng kapayapaang ibinibigay ng mundo. (Juan 14:27 ASD)

If you’ve read this verse before, it’s a good reminder that Jesus gives us His peace. But it takes on even greater meaning when we realize that Jesus said this to His disciples shortly before He was arrested and crucified, because that means He was promising them peace even in the days ahead na magiging ilan sa mga pinakamahirap at pinakamasakit na mga araw na pagdadaanan nila.

Ikaw ba, may pinagdadaanan ka bang napakasakit at napakahirap ngayon? You can pray this verse as a prayer to Him, “Lord, natatakot ako, pero pangako Mo’y bibigyan ako ng kapayapaan. Tulungan Mo ako. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Tandaan mo, isa kang miracle!

Isa kang miracle!
