Mali ba ang pagiging anxious?

Napakabigat para sa akin na marinig na itinuturing na kasalanan ang makaramdam ng anxiety. Siguro nangyayari ito dahil napagkakamalan na ang anxiety ay baliktad na pananalig sa Panginoon. Sometimes we think that putting our trust in God means we’ll never feel fear, confusion, or anxiety again.

In our series this week, “Anxiety: A Biblical View (It’s Not What You Think!),” we want to form a Biblical perspective of anxiety. Kung titingnan natin ang mga kwento sa Bible, nakaranas din ang mga tauhan ng Panginoon ng takot o pagkabahala. At hindi sila pinagalitan ni Lord nung nakaramdam sila ng ganito.

Mahalagang maintindihan natin na ang pag-aalala o anxiety ay hindi automatic sin. A better view is to understand that it’s actually a signal. For example, nakakaramdam tayo ng anxiety kapag mayroon tayong hindi naiintindihan, hindi nalalaman, o hindi nako-control. It's not wrong if you need to know or have some sense of control over what’s going on. It’s a natural part of what God gave us when He gave us free will and autonomy. Pero ang kailangan nating matutunan ay kung ano ang gagawin kapag nakaramdam na tayo ng anxiety.

For example, the psalmist writes this: 

Kapag akoʼy natatakot, sa inyo ako magtitiwala. (Salmo 56:3 ASD

Nakikita mo ba? Hindi niya sinasabing never siyang natatakot o nag-aalala. When fear or anxiety comes, inaamin niya ito. And it’s only after doing so that he chooses to put his trust in the Lord.

Ikaw ba, when you feel anxious, ano ba ang una mong ginagawa? Do you suppress it or wave it off as something that’s not applicable to a Christian? We encourage you to practice saying, “OK, I’m feeling anxious right now.” Then bring it to the Lord.

Tandaan mo, isa kang miracle!
