Let Your Light Shine
Have you ever looked up at the sky on a full-moon night and just stopped for a moment? Ang laki, ang liwanag, ang ganda. Parang may sariling spotlight ang buwan—especially on a dark night, when everything around us seems quiet and dim.
But here’s something interesting: the moon doesn’t actually produce its own light.
We learned this in science class. The moon only appears bright because it reflects the light of the sun. Hindi galing sa buwan ang liwanag na nakikita natin. It comes from the sun.
And somehow, parang buwan pala tayo.
Wala naman tayong sariling liwanag na maibibigay. Pero sabi sa Bible, tayo raw ang “salt and light of the earth” (Matthew 5:14). So, in a way, may liwanag tayong dala. Pero hindi dahil sa sarili nating kakayahan o kabutihan—kundi dahil sa liwanag ni Jesus na nasa loob natin.
Recently, I got in touch with a friend I had known more than twenty years ago. Nagkwentuhan kami tungkol sa mga nangyari noong panahong iyon—mga bagay na matagal nang lumipas. Ang nakakagulat? May naalala siyang isang bagay tungkol sa akin na matagal ko nang nakalimutan. I honestly couldn’t even remember it. And it made me realize something: sometimes, we leave a mark on people’s lives without even knowing it.
Maybe it was a kind word we said when they were having a difficult day. Maybe it was the way we listened. Maybe it was a simple act of kindness. We may not remember those moments anymore, but someone else might still be carrying the light they saw through us.
Maliwanag ang buhay natin dahil ipinapakita natin kung sino Siya through our lives. Kapag nagmamahal, nagpapatawad, nagsasalita nang may kabutihan, at nagpapakumbaba tayo, lumalabas ang liwanag ni Jesus sa atin. At tunay ang liwanag na ito dahil si Jesus mismo ang pinagmumulan nito.

Buhay ka dahil nanalo na Siya laban sa kamatayan
Everything good that shines through your life is a reflection and manifestation of His divine nature working within you.
So today, don’t worry about trying to create your own light. Just stay close to the Source. And let His light shine through you.
