Face your feelings! 😬
When you’re thinking about your emotional life, ang bigat ba ng dating sa’yo? Yung tipong sakit at disappointment agad ang una mong nararamdaman, tapos parang walang katapusan, wala nang solusyon? Usually, ganito tayo kapag may mga issues tayo with our family, friends, o sa karelasyon natin. Cliché as it may sound, tao lang tayo.
The good news is, God cares about our emotional wellness.
(Salmo 147:3 ASD)
Nakikita mo ba? The Lord really wants to heal the brokenhearted. Sabi nga ni Mitch Albom, author ng Tuesdays with Morrie, “Let emotions like sadness or loneliness flow completely to process them, then set them aside.” Minsan kasi, akala natin mas gumagaling ang pusong nabigo by denying our feelings and pretending we’re fine. Yun pala, hindi natin makukuha ang totoong healing unless we face and process these feelings. Could that be why the Bible includes 150 chapters of Psalms, where the Psalm writers all wrestle with a wide range of emotions, asking questions of God?
As we continue our series, “Pursuing Emotional Wellness,”We encourage you to do as the psalmists did: acknowledge your feelings and bring them to God. Minsan kasi, it's hard to put words to our feelings. And songs, poems, or other people’s writings can be a big help.
It can sometimes take time to get used to it, just practice it, little by little.
Tandaan mo, isa kang miracle!
