Can you identify your feelings?🤔

Madali ba para sa’yo na malaman kung ano ang nararamdaman mo? Karamihan sa atin ay nakaranas noong bata pa tayo, na pinapagalitan kapag umiyak o nagpakita ng galit. Kaya hindi nakapagtataka na marami sa atin ang hindi sanay mag-identify at mag-label ng ating feelings.

At bakit mahalaga na malaman natin kung ano ang ating nararamdaman? Because it’s the first step to being able to give them to God. Let’s read this verse: 

Pagkatiwala nʟyo sa kanya ang lahat ng kabalisahan nʟyo, dahil nagmamalasakit siya sa inyo. (1 Pedro 5:7 ASD) 

This is probably the most important thing to remember as we go through our series, “Pursuing Emotional Wellness”: that He cares for us! Ito ang magiging umpisa ng pagiging tapat natin sa ating mga nararamdaman. Dahil alam nating nagmamalasakit si Lord sa atin, mas malaki ang posibilidad na magkwento tayo sa Kanya ng lahat ng nasa kalooban natin.

Pero paano kung hindi mo talaga alam ang nararamdaman mo? Don’t worry, okay lang ‘yan. Some of us are not yet used to identifying our feelings, and some of us experience what’s called delayed emotional processing—hindi ito mali; may mga pagkakataon lang talaga na hindi natin agad nalalaman ang ating feelings. Sometimes we only know we feel bad at the moment, at kailangan pa natin ng konting panahon to process how we felt. We can do this by journaling or sharing it with the Lord in prayer.

To start you off, here are some of the most common emotions you can choose from to help identify how you’re feeling:

  • Happiness - natutuwa ka ba? Surprised? Excited? 

  • Anger - nagagalit ka ba? Naiinis? Naaasar? 

  • Sadness - nalulungkot ka ba? Naghihinayang? Nawawalan ng pag-asa? 

  • Fear - natatakot ka ba? Anxious about the unknown? Nervous?
