Are you keeping secrets from God?
sinu-sino ba ang mga fave people mo, ’yung mga mahal mo? Siguro family mo, kaibigan, or your boyfriend/girlfriend or partner. Can we ask you this — mahal ka din ba nila kahit sino ka pa? Nakikita ba nila ang lahat-lahat sa’yo?
Naitanong namin ito because we are starting a new series this week, “Expectation vs Reality: Love Me for Who I Am.” We believe this is a deep need that we all share—to be loved for who we truly are.
Mas tricky pa ngayong may social media. Most of what we see online are well-scripted, well-designed, or well-curated snippets of people’s lives. No wonder nagdudulot ito ng inggit, dahil ang nakikita natin sa buhay natin ay chaos at iba’t-ibang drama, but sa posts ng iba, parang they’ve got it all together.
Let’s start this week by reading this passage:
“Nakakaawa kayong mga tagapagturo ng Kautusan at mga Pariseo, kayong mga mapagkunwari! Nililinis ninyo ang labas ng tasa at pinggan, ngunit ang loob ng puso ninyoʼy puno naman ng kasakiman at katakawan. Mga bulag na Pariseo! Linisin muna ninyo ang loob ng tasa at baso, at magiging malinis din ang labas nito. (Mateo 23:25-26 ASD)
Nakikita mo ba? Ayaw talaga ni Lord ng nagpapanggap. Kaya pinagalitan Niya ang mga Pariseo na mukhang maganda sa labas pero hindi sa loob.
The good news is, dahil ayaw ni Lord ng ganoon, we can be confident that He wants to see the real us—to hold and love who we truly are deep inside. Let’s practice this: when you pray this week, ilabas mo lahat ng naiisip at nararamdaman mo. He welcomes your honesty.
